Repeating Events

Loxi provides an option to repeat an event on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.

This is especially useful for events that occur regularly because it allows you to publish multiple events in a single step.

A repeated event is created when adding a new event to the calendar.

Click the Create an Event option in the main menu to get started.

Enable Repeat Event

Once you've completed the basic information for the event, open the Repeat Event tab in the Event Settings screens to turn the event into a repeating one.

Note: The RSVP feature is incompatible with recurring events. If you need to use the RSVP on one of the events, it is best to set that event up separately from the rest of the recurring series of events.

Set the Frequency

Does this event repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly? Select the option that fits best.

You can customize how often the event repeats by setting the frequency to repeat every "X" number of days, weeks, months or years, depending on the frequency that was chosen.

For example, your event will repeat every other week, if you select "Weekly" from the list of options, then enter “2” in the frequency field.

Setting a weekly repeating event gives you an additional ability to specify whether the event repeats on certain days of the week, defaulting to the day of the week of the first event. For example, if you want your event to repeat on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then select those days of the week.

Events that repeat Monthly and Yearly offer a similar level of customization, allowing you to specify whether the event repeats on the same calendar date (e.g.the 16th) or the same day (e.g. third Wednesday) of the month.

Set when the repeat ends

You can set an event to stop repeating after a specific number of times, on a specific date, or to repeat indefinitely.

  • Never: The event will repeat forever.
  • After: The event will stop repeating after a specific number of times
  • On: The event will stop repeating on a specific date that you choose

Please note that selecting Never will publish the first two years of events to your calendar, then automatically create more from there. Read a full explanation of how this works.

4. Set Date Exclusions

You can set the event to not repeat on specific dates by adding exclusions.

  1. Click on Add
  2. Enter the date you do not want your event to repeat
  3. Rinse, wash and repeat as often as needed

Editing a Repeat Event

Once a repeat event has been published, it can be edited at any time. You can edit any event in the series individually just like you would any normal event.

Caution: Be careful if you edit the original event of the series, it can result in the following events being edited as well.

After you perform changes to a recurring event and hit the Publish button, you will be prompted with a pop-up.

At this point, you can decide if you want your changes to be applied to:

  1. This event only
  2. All events

Choose wisely and hit the Publish button.

Deleting a Repeat Event

Deleting a repeating event is exactly like deleting a normal event. You can read all about it here.

Once you have changed the Publish status of an event to Delete Event and hit the Publish button for any event in a recurring event series, you will be prompted with a pop-up.

At this point, you can decide if you want to delete:

  1. This event only (and not the other ones in the series)
  2. All events (in the series)

Choose wisely (you cannot undo deleted events) and hit the Delete Event button.
