Saving, Scheduling and Publishing Events

There are three ways to save events to your Loxi calendar.

To get started, click the Create Event option in the admin toolbar, complete the first screen, then click Next to proceed to the event settings.

1. Publishing an Event

Publishing an event is the default option. Click the Publish button in the event settings and your event will immediately be posted to the calendar. It’s considered a “live” event at that point.

You can see the read all about that here.

Pro tip: Published events will appear with a blue dot on your calendar.

Pro tip 2: In case you are wondering, the blue dot is only visible in your admin calendar while logged in. It is not visible for anybody else to see, not in your public Loxi calendar or any of its embeds.

2. Scheduling an Event

Let’s say you have created an event, but want it to publish on a specific date. Loxi lets you do that.

Open the Publish Settings tab in the event settings and select the Schedule Publishing option. This will allow you to select the date you would like the event to publish to the calendar.

Once you’ve selected the Schedule Publishing option, go back to the Event settings. The Publish button is replaced with a Schedule button.

Click the button to save your event and schedule it to publish on the date you selected. Loxi will handle the rest!

Pro tip: Scheduled events will appear with a green dot on your Calendar, but they will not be visible to other visitors.

Pro tip 2: In case you are wondering, the green dot is only visible in your admin calendar while logged in. It is not visible for anybody else to see, not in your public Loxi calendar or any of its embeds.

3. Saving a Draft Event

Working on an event but don’t want to publish or schedule it just yet? Saving an event as a draft is a handy way to save your place and pick things back up later.

Open the Publish Settings tab in the event settings and select the Save as Draft option. When you head back to the event settings, the Publish button is replaced with a Save as Draft button.

Click the button to save your event. Loxi will hold onto it for you to complete later.

Pro tip: Draft events will appear with an orange dot on your Calendar. Like scheduled events, these are only visible to you when you are logged in and to no one else.

Pro tip 2: In case you are wondering, the orange dot is only visible in your admin calendar while logged in. It is not visible for anybody else to see, not in your public Loxi calendar or any of its embeds.

Viewing Your Event Statuses

Published events are visible to anyone, but only you can view the Scheduled and Draft events on your calendar when you are logged into your account.

Loxi indicates whether the event is Published, Scheduled or a Draft with a color dot next to the event title.

Only want to see published events? Or drafts? Use the options above the calendar to filter events by their status.

Pro tip: remember, only you have access to view unpublished events and filter them when you are logged into your account.
